Erika reveals that she first got involved in pageants in order to continue giving back to the community after growing up in a close-knit Catholic family. “My mother took us to soup kitchens and always told us that we wanted to share our blessings with others,” she says. "When I realized that by playing I could reach more people and advance my causes, I felt this was an opportunity to make a bigger difference."
